On 12 August 2026 the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi signed Decision 4081/QĐ-ĐHQGHN recognising the research group “Công nghệ phân tích quang phổ Raman và Trí tuệ nhân tạo” (Research Group on Raman Spectroscopy Analysis Technology and Artificial Intelligence) as a VNU Strong Research Group for 2026. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Thanh Tùng of the VNU International School serves as group leader. The decision takes effect from the date of signature.
It was issued on the basis of Government Decrees 201/2025/NĐ-CP of 11 July 2025 and 125/2026/NĐ-CP of 6 April 2026, VNU Decision 286/QĐ-ĐHQGHN of 16 January 2015 on the management of science and technology activities, VNU Decision 3273/QĐ-ĐHQGHN of 25 October 2021 on the development of and incentives for strong research groups, and the conclusions of the appraisal council.
The group follows a “one technology core, layered applications” strategy: a single core of Raman spectroscopy combined with explainable artificial intelligence, applied across biomedical diagnostics, pharmaceutical quality control and smart agriculture / food safety, supported by an underpinning strand in photonics and instrumentation.
The Vietnamese original of the decision is available under Supporting documents on the About page. Detailed membership information is contained in the appendix attached to the decision.
