The extensive study and examination of spinal curvature have garnered significant attention in response to the escalating incidence of conditions like kyphosis and scoliosis, coupled with the demand for efficacious rehabilitation modalities. However, only a limited number of previous studies have yielded a viable solution that enables continuous monitoring of spinal conditions and provides prompt feedback. In our research, we employ a real-time system for monitoring spinal curvature, allowing for the direct tracking and evaluation of alterations in spinal parameter values throughout the experimental procedure. This is a non-invasive system, and the basic method functions similarly to the Cobb angle. We used a spinal model, which is constructed utilizing the 3-axis coordinate system as a foundation, subsequently leveraging acceleration values obtained from body sensors attached to the patient and angle calculations for precise measurements to track the shape of the object being monitored. As for the results obtained, the sensors' placement in the setup introduces imprecisions, resulting in notable deviations from the true values. The device exhibits promise in terms of precision; to rectify the offset predicament and enhance measurement accuracy, additional calibration and refinement are imperative. This study contributes to the domain of spinal curvature assessment and can assist healthcare professionals in more precise diagnoses and monitoring of spinal conditions. Future research endeavors should concentrate on refining the calibration process and optimizing the device to enhance its accuracy and reliability in assessing spinal curvature.
